Scott “Mac” MacPherson

Attorney

Scott began his legal career as In-House Counsel for a large real estate startup in Western New York State following his graduation from Syracuse University College of Law. After honing his skills representing the company and its affiliates in housing, landlord/tenant, and related civil litigation matters, Scott moved on to New York City. There he represented buyers, sellers, and lenders in a wide variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions working with a multitude of communities and cultures. In addition, Scott helped his clients form companies and corporations for new ventures and business acquisitions. A small portion of his practice took on divorce and family law cases. Scott still maintains his license to practice in New York as the need arises.

As the pandemic hit New York City, Scott moved to Dallas and transitioned into asset management for national, hard money lenders where he obtained a vast knowledge of federally backed mortgage loans, their terms, and post-closing loan issues. This work provided him with comprehensive knowledge of property valuation, performance, and condition; as well lender expectations and loan defaults on multifamily assets across the country.

In his spare time, Scott has volunteered in immigration cases defending asylum seekers against removal from the United States; and currently tutors students taking the bar exam to improve their legal writing skills in various areas of law.

Scott brings his broad knowledge and desire to inform and educate to the Patel Law Group PLLC, where his practice focuses on real estate and corporate transactions. Scott makes his clients’ needs the priority as he negotiates favorable loan terms, and ensures clients have a thorough understanding of loan provisions and lender expectations.
